Designing for Lowell

Wish Designs custom-designs hats and outerwear for the Lowell Historical Park gift shop. These designs connect us not only with an important era in US history, but also with an important element of our own business history-- the rich history of American enterprise, manufacturing, and textile production.

We have a deep appreciation for Lowell, Massachusetts and its long history and leading role in the American Industrial Revolution. As a manufacturing company that works in textiles, we cannot help but look back at the history of textile manufacturing in the US without thinking of Lowell.

Lowell, a city an hour Northwest of Boston was once known as the "Venice of the United States." It was the first large-scale industrial city in American history, a hub of the US textile industry and the American Industrial Revolution. In the 19th Century, Lowell's industry was powered by the Merrimack River and the hands and hard work of US immigrants working in textile mills.

In 1978 the US National Park Service commemorated Lowell's leading role it the American Industrial Revolution by opening the Lowell Historical Park. The park features 5.6 miles of canals that can be explored on foot, by tour boat, or aboard a historic trolley. On the next trip to Massachusetts, be sure to visit Lowell and relive an important era in American history. For more information on the park, tours and events, visit the Park Website.

Wish Designs custom designs embroidery and screen printing for the National Park Service, museums, and historic places across the US. For more information on how we can serve your custom design needs, visit our website.

Wish Designs for the National Park Service

Among the many projects Wish Designs works on for the National Park Service, is the Park Service Law Enforcement Trailer, featured here. The DUI enforcement trailer is used for road block-style stops in the Delaware Water Gap National Park. It is essential that the trailer's graphics are highly visible, durable, and reflective so they can easily be seen from a distance by oncoming traffic. The Scotchcal graphics we used are made from a highly reflective vinyl that is visible at night when illuminated.

Wish Designs' graphic artists know the importance of functional design. We custom-designed the trailer's graphics to match those featured on the NPS vehicle that tows the trailer. Wish Designs specializes in signs and vinyl graphics that serve a specific and functional purpose. For more information about how Wish Designs can meet your functional design needs, visit our website or speak with Fred at 610-614-0664.

Happy Martin Luther King Day from Wish Designs

Today, Martin Luther King Day, is a day to remember that the dream of one man lives on in each of us and in our work. As Dr. King said as he accepted the Nobel Peace Prize, "I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality, and freedom for their spirits. I believe that what self-centered men have torn down, men other-centered can build up." We reflect on this dream for a better and brighter future for our families, communities, nation, and world.

Today, as a tribute to his example, his message, and his dream, we feature the screen printing and embroidery that we custom-designed and manufactured for the Martin Luther King Historic Site.

Martin Luther King's is a dream that we hope you capture...and pass on. Happy Martin Luther King Day from Wish Designs.

Nazareth on the World Map: Martin Guitar

It is confirmed! Nazareth, PA is on the world map. Recently, a Rotary Exchange student from Ecuador joined our family for a typical American dinner. He told us that he had heard about Nazareth long before visiting the US. You, like we were, may be surprised. Nazareth is a small town, often overshadowed by its more populated and well-known Lehigh Valley neighbors, Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton. It can easily be missed when driving North to ski or hike in the Pocono Mountains. However, this particular exchange student knew of Nazareth because it is the home of Martin Guitar. Since 1833, C.F. Martin & Company has been building the finest acoustic instruments in the world, most notably guitars, in small town Nazareth, PA.

This is a fact of which we are proud. C.F. Martin & Company has produced over 1 million guitars in its long history. Its commitment to quality, community, and craftsmenship are qualities that set it apart. And, as such, is recognized worldwide. We are proud to be Martin Guitar's neighbors and are equally proud that our town, Nazareth, is associated with these distinguishing qualities.

These are qualities that we share. Wish Designs prides itself on high quality production, craftsmenship in our custom design and manufacturing, and strong commitment to the community to which we belong. We are proud to serve fellow Lehigh Valley businesses such as C.F. Martin & Company.

These embroidered hats and other Wish Designs products can be found in the C.F. Martin & Company gift shop. Be sure to stop by for a guided factory tour! For additional information on Wish Designs, visit our website.
